Sydney

touristsWe are almost like 'real' tourists know, as you can see on the picture. We have already explored a huge part of Sydney, we've been to the Opera House and halfway up the Sydney Harbour Bridge, but most of the time, we've been driving up and down the streets and boroughs. We went to the airfield every day and twice we had to drive into the City to pick up parcels. Gisela tried hard to navigate me through this urban jungle with maps on her lap. It turned out to be a rather difficult task, because you never know which of the three lanes will be the right one for the next turn. And I wouldn't call Sydney's drivers the most considerate either... You hesitate - you lose.

packingBefore disassembling our trikes for shipment we took Ray, a manager at Hellmann Sydney, for a flight. Our last passenger was Richard, owner of the hangar we had parked our trikes at, who really enjoyed the little excursion in this gorgeous weather we had. Then, on Friday, the container arrived. Two customs officers inspected our shipment and everything was tightened up and ready to go. The freight ship will put out to sea on April 20th, heading towards Hamburg.

last entryTaking care of all our chores also means the conclusion of our diary. Every other news from now on will be posted in the "News" section of our website upon our return to Germany. You might also want to check out the DULV-Info in a few weeks and the other aviation-magazines.

Finally, we would like to say thanks:

To those, who offered us great hospitality in Australia, who helped us out, who assisted us in getting fuel, who took us into their homes, and who told us so much about the country and the people living there. And thanks to those who foolowed our journey from their homes in Germany or elsewhere around the world. To those, who posted greetings and comments on our guestpage and thus showed their interest and support.

And - last but not least - a big thanks to our sponsors without whom an adventure like ours would never have been possible.
