...that is the aim that we - Gisela Bllhoff and Wolfgang Lintl - have set ourselves for 1999: to fly the other side of the world in our ultralights. To see where the boomerang comes from and to check if there really are kangaroos on the fifth continent.
We invite you to accompany us and follow where our journey takes us. We will be keeping a journal on an IBM ThinkPad and will be making sure that it hits the Internet on the same day, meaning youĞll be able to read here later how high we were flying, how strong the wind from behind (hopefully) was and which friendly Australian was able to provide us with petrol or accomodation. At the moment, though, we`re still occupied with the preparations; checking flight routes and calculating transport times, studying requirements for entering the country and checking the airports (and airfields?) along the route, which are to take us from Perth via Melbourne to Sydney.
This site is therefore in construction. In a few weeks there will be pictures and maps, links and other information. Until then, youĞll have to be patient with us.
If all goes to plan, the journey will start on the 1st of March and end , hopefully successfully, six weeks later.
